Margaret has written a very heart warming book about a woman who inheritances a B&B. Your heart goes out to this single mom and are happy her life is getting better, until things start happening there and around her. I just couldn`t put the book down, I really enjoyed it. So glad she had a happy ending. Loved the dogs in the book
A sweet, clean book with strong characters, mystery, murder, crimes, and of course romance. And the good guys win. It is short enough to read quickly, but long enough to tell a good story.
After being a single mom for five years & struggling financially, Lacey inherits a B&B in her former hometown. She & eight year old Shaun move in to start a new life. Their next door neighbor is Ryan, the local sheriff & former FBI agent. Immediately troubles begin from the icy glare of the B&B manager to burglaries & murder. This is a book full of suspense, mystery & sweet romance! It reminds us that God "has our back" & there's no need for us to worry about yesterday or tomorrow.
Five stars---Margaret Daley always does an outstanding job with her writing--the characters & the storylines are excellent. I thoroughly enjoy reading her books---this was one filled with intrigue & light romance!! Her books are always clean & faith-based---highly recommended for all!!
Ms. Daley is one of my favorite authors, and I enjoyed this book in the Strong Women series. I enjoyed the chemistry between Lacey (a single Mom) & Ryan, and also the added "family" dimensions of the dogs and the Lacey's energetic son Shaun. I highly recommend this book as well as others in this series.
Single mother inherits B&B that had been her childhood home. For the first time she and her son will have their own home. Two problems, a dead body who isn't identified and a burglary ring. Her new neighbor, the police chief, lives in the next building to the B&B and her son wants to play with the police chief's dog. As they worry about the criminal who left the dead body and what danger she might be in they all become closer and romance and love enter the picture.
A pleasant beach read.
Ryan is the sheriff in town. He's moved back to his childhood house to restart his life after deciding it was time for a change from the FBI. Widow Lacey is the latest beneficiary of Harold Hopewell. She now owns the Calvert Cove B & B, which was her childhood home twenty years before. Now with her son Shaun, she is also ready to start again. Ryan and Lacey knew each other as kids, but now that they are adults they definitely connect. This is a lovely story of two well matched, supportive people who fall easily in love. The mysteries that surround the town keep you guessing by providing hints, but nothing easy. Throw in cute dogs and nice townsfolk and the result is a good, well written and plotted story.
